Sipi River Lodge

Sipi River Lodge is found at the entrance to Mount Elgon National Park and most of the hiking routes starts and end their parameters at the lodge.

Mountain Elgon is the fourth highest mountain in Eastern Africa, with the second-highest peak in Uganda, Wagagi is the highest at Peak at 4321m.

Mount Elgon National park is situated near Mbale district in Eastern Uganda. It covers a total land space of 1145 sq. km and the park was named after its most important natural feature.

There are three other outstanding peaks on this mountain and these include the Kiongo at 4303 meters and Mubiyi at 4210 meters and Jackson’s summit at 4165 meter

The national Park can be reached by road whose drive takes 3-4 hours from Uganda’s capital city Kampala along the tarmac road.

Explore Wild landscapes and a unique cultural heritage remain strong in this lesser travelled region of Uganda which were less affected by western civilisation. Visit the Karamojong people in their manyattas as you explore the Nyero rock paintings in the region.

Sipi River Lodge is located on the foothills of Mount Elgon with a specular view of the three awesome waterfalls, is home to a large number of bird species.

The lodge is set within the grounds of a unique restored former residence, Sipi River Lodge consists of a main house and 7detached accommodations for guests, and each individually designed with a thoughtful perspective on the backdrop of Kapsurur Falls.

The kitchen proudly serves specialty, single-origin French-press coffee to our guests. They also sale packaged whole bean and ground coffee at the main reception area. All coffee is packed fresh for every order.

Within this picturesque setting you will experience intimate fireside dining, a comfortable reading lounge, an airy veranda, and a bar stocked with beers, wines, and a fine selection of single malt whisky.

The lodge is located in one of the world’s finest coffee-growing areas our organic Arabica coffee is sourced directly from local farmers and hand-roasted on an open fire by our full time coffee artisans.
